Raymond Cheng

If you choose to use Gmail to receive emails for you like Outlook, I would strongly recommend that you also use it for sending email (details below). For now, let us see how we can configure Gmail to receive emails By the way, if you do not have a Gmail account, it's probably the right time now to go and sign up for one for free.

Go to Gmail setup menu
Step 1a. Go to Gmail setup menu

Choose 'Settings' under the scroll-down menu
Step 1b. Choose "Settings" under the scroll-down menu

Click on the tab 'Accounts and Imports'
Step 1c. Click on the tab "Accounts and Imports"

Click 'Add a POP3 mail account you own'
Step 2. Click "Add a POP3 mail account you own"

Once you clicked on the link "Add a POP3 mail account you own", a pop-up window should appear. If nothing pops up, please check your browser settings to see if you have pop-up windows disabled or blocked.

Put in your Commentary.com email address
Step 3a. Put in your Commentary.com email address

Enter your username and password and click 'Add Account'
Step 3b. Enter your Commentary.com username and password, click "Add Account"

If you have previous add your Commentary.com email address into your Gmail account, you can skip the rest of the following steps.

Click 'Next Step'
Step 3c. Click "Next Step"

Put in your name in the space provided
Step 3d. Put in your name, click "Next Step"

You have now completed configuring Gmail to receive email and from this step onward I will walk you through the steps to configure Gmail to send mail as well. If you have already configured Gmail to send mail, you can ignore the rest of the steps below.

Choose 'Send through Gmail'
Step 4a. Choose 'Send through Gmail'

Click 'Send Verification'
Step 4b. Click 'Send Verification'

Gmail will then send an email with a verification code to your email account and you can retrieve this code using your current email program.

Enter the confirmation code
Step 4c. Enter the confirmation code

At this point you have completed all steps required to configure Gmail to work with your Commentary.com email address. The "confirmation code" (as in Step 4c above) should soon arrive in your Gmail account. Use this code to complete your setup and you are done!
