AVG Antivirus 2013 Free Offline Installer Download Links

I recently wrote about Norton Internet Security 2013 and Norton Antivirus 2013. This is time of the year when most security companies will be releasing the next versions of their security products. This time, most of the companies are adding support for Windows 8 which has only been released to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. It will be available as a retail product on 26th of October 2012. Since Microsoft has already moved to the new tiled interface and design with Windows 8, Office 2013 and even their logo. So now expect every third party product to be follow the same path and the design will resemble the Windows 8 modern UI design.

AVG Technologies has also released the new version of AVG Antivirus 2013 Free and AVG Internet Security 2013. The graphical user interface of AVG Antivirus 2013 has been revamped and now it uses the same modern UI and Windows 8.

AVG Antivirus Free has been the choice of most people who don’t want to buy expensive Internet Security products. AVG Antivirus Free protects the system from basic threats. AVG Antivirus 2013 Free contains the following modules:

  • Antivirus
  • Incoming/Outgoing Email Scanner
  • Web browsing protection
  • Social Networking Protection
  • Do Not Track
  • Identity Protection
  • WiFi Guard

These are quite a few features that are mostly not included in the free versions of security products. Since, not all of us use each and every service, I would recommend you to go for a custom installation setup and select only the modules that are necessary for you. For example, I don’t use any email client software for checking my emails so I would certainly turn the email scanner off. This will make AVG Antivirus 2013 run lighter on system resources.

AVG Antivirus 2013 Free also includes a PC analyzer module which does the same thing as other Windows optimization software like System Mechanic, Advanced SystemCare and Toolwiz Care. The PC analyzer can perform basic optimizations like fixing Windows Registry errors, cleaning the junk files, reducing the file fragmentation on the hard drive etc.

AVG Antivirus 2013 Free comes with an online installer setup file which lets you configure the Antivirus and then only download the components which you need. This saves some Internet bandwidth. But if you want to save an offline installer setup of the Antivirus software, you will not be able to find it on the AVG website. So we have done the hard work of extracting the direct download links of AVG Antivirus Free 2013. Complete version of the product is 2013.2667.

Oh, please do not get me wrong. This new section is not about computers, electronics or any engineering stuff, but rather I am currently constructing a new corpus based on Spectrum, the monthly publication from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers USA, from July 2007 to date. Having been a member for over 20 years since 1992, I am always fascinated by some of the terms scientists use when they talk about or envision their new inventions or methodologies. How many of them eventually come into practice? Could there be some insights we could possibly derive, from the linguistics perspective?
